Imperial
Japanese Navy was very impressed with the performance of Heinkel's newest fighter and purchased three He-100D-0, license to produce
them in Japan and the set of jigs. Those three planes arrived in
Japan and were re-assembled in Kasumigaura, and under the name
Navy
Experimental Type He Interceptor Fighter were delivered to IJN for
testing.
Full scale production was planned at
the new Hitachi plant in Chiba, but sets of plans and the jigs never
arrived in Japan and the entire project was abandoned.
