Ki-44 Shoki represented radical change in design of Japanese fighters.
From the start, this plane was designed as a heavy interceptor with
emphasis on speed, armament and rate of climb, and not on maneuverability
as all previous designs.
However inadequate for the task,
Ki-44s were the only fighters with the chance to intercept high flying
B-29s during their first raids against Japanese mainland.
Model can be build with fully detailed cockpit, detailed engine and
movable control surfaces - or you can skip all that and still build a
beautiful replica of this plane.
Represented here is the most numerous Nakajima Ki-44 IIc variant.
